Driven by new hardware and game releases, Microsoft's Xbox 360 was the highest selling video game console in the United States in November, according to a recent report by market research firm NPD Group.
With 1.3 million units sold in November, this marks the sixth consecutive month Microsoft has claimed the top spot, and the Xbox 360 was the only console to post double-digit year-to-date growth with 42 percent, Microsoft claims.
Microsoft's hands-free controller the Kinect was the top-selling accessory in November, with 2.5 million sales in its first 25 days.
Gamers who want to get the most out of their new purchases can connect their Xbox 360 to an HD-TV, LED monitor or DLP projector to display their games in full clarity.
November's top-selling game, Call of Duty: Black Ops, sold more than 8 million copies for all major consoles in the United States alone. According to a Microsoft press release, five other of November's top 10 console games were also available on the Xbox 360, including, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Madden NFL 11, Fable III, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and NBA 2K11.
