At the newly renovated AEG Live’s Best Buy Theater in Times Square, the audio/video system has to be stunning. It has to be flexible. It has to be reliable.
The 13 plasma and LED big screen video monitors throughout the venue and the 202−inch (measured diagonally) LED screen in the lobby deliver the sharpest, brightest high definition picture quality from a variety of sources. Behind the screens are the system’s stars: the Sierra Video Sierra Pro XL 16x16 component video and stereo audio matrix switcher along with 13 Kramer Electronics TP−45RC and TP−46 component video twisted pair transmitters and receivers, seven Kramer VM−2C 1:2 component video distribution amplifiers, three Kramer VP−420 computer graphics video and HDTV digital scalers and a VP−729 ProScale® digital scaler/switcher.
According to the owners of Arcadia New Media Services, Jan Eckhard and Dan Salimbene, who designed the system, it was created to be flexible and spectacular. Salimbene says his design team chose Kramer Electronics and Sierra Video products as the backbone of the system because of their reputation, as well as availability. “We researched the various head−end hardware and Kramer and Sierra kept popping up,” Salimbene said. “Everyone we talked to gave those products a great recommendation, and the company was able to meet our tight time frame.”
The multi−media presentations in the heart of New York’s theater district will continue to be stunning, flexible and reliable - thanks to the performance of Kramer Electronics and Sierra Video products.
