Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation announced today that the Digital Signage Awards (The DOOHDAS) has recognized Sharp for “Overall Achievement” in Manufacturing.
The Digital Signage Awards receives thousands of international entries and selects an elite group of winners through an impartial, independent and objective process. Its goal is to identify the world’s most outstanding digital screen media projects, creativity, content and technology. Expert judges chosen for their experience in the industry vote independently for the Digital Signage Awards’ entries they believe best fit each category.
Each year, the Overall Achievement in Manufacturing award goes to an organization that displays innovation, brilliant content and technical excellence. Sharp received the honor within the Overall Achievement category because of its outstanding work for Idaho State University-Meridian. Without a formal gross anatomy laboratory, ISU-Meridian students relied on video conferencing for the interactive portion of their studies. To address this, the university constructed a new laboratory facility with more than 40 Sharp display systems and advanced health science studies across campus, establishing a hands-on, interactive learning environment. ISU-Meridian, with the help of Sharp technologies, has completely changed the learning experience for its students, and now provides one of the best health sciences learning environments in the country.
“It’s an honor to be a part of this exclusive group recognized by the Digital Signage Awards and to be acknowledged for the work we did with Idaho State University-Meridian,” said Gary Bailer, director of product management, Information Display Products. Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “The award reflects our commitment to creating the best environments in which to work and learn and to develop the innovative products that make that possible.”
